Accommodation

How many houses are there in A Sociedade Rural?
We have three houses: Rosmaninho, Oliveira and Esteva. In total, there are seven rooms that can accommodate up to 14 people. Each house is unique. See more details here.
Can I book the entire A Sociedade Rural for my group?
Yes. We recommend booking in advance to ensure availability.
Why is A Sociedade Rural adults only?
To maintain an atmosphere of complete tranquillity, Sociedade Rural is exclusive for adults. We welcome guests aged 20 years and above.
What's included in the price?
Are starter provisions available?
Yes. We include Nespresso capsules (two per guest), tea, sugar, seasonal fruit, milk, salt and pepper. We can also stock the fridge with other products; this service incurs an additional cost.
Are extra beds available
The maximum occupancy is 14 guests. We do not provide extra beds.
Do the rooms have private bathrooms?
Yes, all rooms have private bathrooms fully equipped.
Do you have heating and air conditioning?
Yes, all houses are equipped with heating for winter and air conditioning for summer.
Laundry service
Yes, at an additional cost.
Is Wi-Fi available?
The houses have free Wi-Fi. We do not provide televisions; we promote rest and digital switch-off. Please avoid using mobile phones and laptops in the common areas. On some evenings, we organise outdoor cinema screenings.
Why is A Sociedade Rural Guest Only?
To ensure a private, welcoming and truly peaceful environment, Sociedade Rural is exclusive to guests. We only welcome those who have chosen to be here, with no external visitors and no open access. This approach allows us to care for each stay with greater attention and to create a cosy, safe and serene space where everyone feels at home.
What does "Guest Only" mean
Do you offer well-being experiences?
Meals
- Breakfast: included, served in A Cozinha from 8:30 to 10:30;
- Lunch: light meals by pre-order, request in A Cozinha or via e-mail at hello@asociedaderural.pt;
- Afternoon tea: included, served daily;
- Dinner: book in advance, farm-to-table meals with regional wines;
- There are also good restaurants in the area.
Where can I eat during my stay?
Can we request a picnic to take away?
Yes! Book in advance to receive an ideal hamper for walks, hikes or immersions in nature.
We prefer to cook at home. Are there supermarkets close by?
Yes, if you are staying in Casa Oliveira or Casa Esteva (West Wing).
10 minutes away: mini-market in Santo António das Areias
15–20 minutes away: supermarkets in Castelo de Vide and Portalegre
We also have a selection of local products, pre-prepared meals, and we can do the shopping for you (service at an additional cost).
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, please inform us in advance about any allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences. We do our best to accommodate all needs.

Can I use the sauna whenever I like?
Yes, but we ask that you book in advance to guarantee privacy and a relaxing experience.
Does A Sociedade Rural have a swimming pool?
Yes. We offer an outdoor heated pool and a natural spring water tanks, providing a unique experience.
The swimming pool is available from April to September, weather permitting.
Is parking available?
Yes, we have free private parking on the property for all guests.
Do you have any charging spots for e-cars?
Not yet, but there are nearby options and we will be happy to guide you.
Do you offer a shuttle service?
Yes, upon prior request and at an additional cost. However, we recommend renting a car to better explore the region.
Special occasions: Can I request something special?
Of course! Just let us know in advance. We’ll be happy to help make the date memorable.
Check-in / Check-out
From what time can I check in?
Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. onwards.
Until what time can I check out?
Check-out must be completed by 11:00 a.m.
Can I check in earlier?
Depending on availability, we can accommodate early check-in. Please contact us in advance.
Can I check out later?
Subject to availability, we can offer late check-out. Please ask at reception.
Where do I check in?
Check-in is at the main house of the property. You will receive detailed directions after booking.
What do I need to bring for check-in?
Please bring a valid ID document (ID card or passport) for all guests.

Can I go walking around the grounds on my own?
Of course. Ask us for a map and recommendations. Always take a mobile phone, water, a hat and sunscreen. Let us know your route before you leave.
Can I explore the farm?
Yes! We encourage guests to explore the property, meet our animals, and learn about the sustainable farming we practice.

Can I receive guests or organise a party?
The use of the house is limited to the number of guests stated in the reservation. The entry of external visitors is not allowed without prior authorisation. A Sociedade Rural can be rented on an exclusive basis or can host an event for your guests.
Can I do a photo shoot?
Yes, subject to prior agreement. Photo shoots and filming must be authorised in advance. Commercial activities are not permitted without prior consent.
Can I smoke?
Smoking is prohibited inside the houses and in the common areas. You may do so on the outdoor terraces, using the ashtrays provided. We ask you to take special care due to the risk of fire.
Are pets allowed?
No. Although we love animals, the property is located on a working farm with our own dogs, which may cause conflicts.
Is there mobile phone coverage?
Yes, there is mobile network coverage on the property, although in some areas the signal may be weaker due to the rural location.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept major credit and debit cards. We also accept bank transfers.
